Ggrandfather, Patrick Ready, a constable in Mineral Point(now Mineral City)was beaten by(according to Dover Weekly Argus) by a Simon Boils around September 22, 1881(day newspaper published) Article just lists him as Boils , but in another article about Simon(article published April 22, 1881) and his brother Robert were arrested for beating 2 Germans and Patrick and a Perry Work(the deputy) took them in. There was already animosity toward Patrick from Simon when the beating of Patrick occurred in September because of the previous arrest in April. Simon and Robert's parents Franklin and Lydia Boils(Boyles in 1880 census). Patrick died Dec 1881 . Cause of death is listed as being heart related, but I wonder if Patrick's beating in September was a contributing factor. Would there be a record of Simon's arrest, and where would I find it?
