There are occasional relevant / possibly relevant / references for Conrad and Eli BRANDT / BRANT in the LDS listings. There is a date for Conrad’s second marriage and a death date for Eli.

There may be additional info on the other individuals.
In the 1830 Census, there are two listings for Conrad BRANT. One is in Somerset Co., PA, along with ten other BRANT citations. The second Conrad BRANT is in Tuscarawas Co., OH. Also there are Seth BRANT, Lewis BRANT, Abraham BRANDT and Alexander BRAND, one or more of which may be relevant.

In 1820, the only Conrad BRANT is in Somerset. In Tuscarawas there are Ezra and Henry BRANT. And also Conrad BRONT or BROUT depending on the transcription He is found in Sugar Creek Twp. which matches Conrad and Abraham in 1830. It looks good to me. Identification of Ezra, Henry, Abraham, Lewis and Seth may be helpful in placing your Conrad among all the families in Somerset, if that is valid.
Good confirmation is found in the 1860 Census for Pleasant Twp., Winneshiek Co., IA, but filling in was a bit difficult. Turns out that a number of BRANT listings are in the 1850 Census for Spring Garden Twp., Green Co., WI., especially Conrad <1799> and Magdalena <1800> along with Lewis <1797> and Elizabeth <1803>, all born in PA. Identification of this Lewis could be significant. Still not sure of the 1840 location other than an LDS search for children of Conrad BRANDT & Magdalena indicates a Joseph C. Brandt, b. 1827 Holmes,,OH. While it appears that Conrad was in Tuscarawas till after 1830, he may have gone to Holmes Co. later on and, in deed, there is an 1840 Census listing transcribed as Conrad BURNT. Further investigation of these sources through online census listings at your local library may yield information helpful in finding the answers you seek.

Wanda
