I'm looking for a James Doud/Dowds that lived in Trumbull Co. Ohio abt. 1810. He married Margaret Newell. Had at least 3 sons: Samuel, William, Elijah. I believe this Doud/Dowds family came from Va. to Ohio. Any connections?

I have o'douds/o'dowds/douds in mongahalia county, w.virginia.There are two James' listed. The family moved to Belmont Co. Ohio. 1850 and before they were listed as mallato but after father james died in 1855 they are always listed as white.

I already have been out to that cemetery and have a photo of Bassima's stone.... There seems to be two stones - two people with the same name. The one in Doud Cemetery is where an infant is buried and the other one is up in Maplewood - with her husband, Henry Bettiker...
