Starr M. Bassford, 93 year old Eufaula, Oklahoma resident passed away Tuesday, September 13, 2011 in Eufaula, Oklahoma.

Starr was born on Saturday, May 4, 1918 in Girard, Ohio (Trumbull County) to John Jefferson and Minnie (Boyce) Marsh.
Five children were born into the Marsh family,
Starr having been raised with two brothers and two sisters. The family moved to New Mexico and then Durango, Colorado where Starr graduated from High School in 1935.
She attended the Southwestern Bible Institute, in San Antonio, Texas, for two years.
In June 1944, at the age of 26, Starr married Mr. Warren Bassford.

She became a homemaker and together Warren and Starr raised three children.
Starr worked as a custom upholster. She then received training and became a psychiatric technician at the Agnew State Hospital in San Jose, California, from which she retired.
After retirement Starr moved to Eufaula, Oklahoma in 2006.
She loved to travel and spend her time volunteering in a local nursing home, quilting, and embroidering.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Warren Bassford; two sisters, Mary Lewis, Josephine Marsh; two brothers, Harold Marsh, Lawrence Marsh.
Starr is lovingly survived by her three children, Sharon Velez, Lloyd Bassford, Leann LaMarca and her husband Richard; six grandchildren, Richard Velez and wife Dorothy, Keely LaMarca, Cedric LaMarca, Ariel LaMarca, Selene LaMarca, Trevor LeMarca; one brother-in-law, Norval Bassford, other extended family, and a lifetime of friends.
Memorial services for Starr will be 11:00AM Saturday, September 17, 2011, Garrett Family Funeral Home Chapel, with Reverend Byron Kennedy officiating. Private family Interment will be held in Durango, Colorado.
