I know I’m close but I need some help getting my connection to these JOHNSONS of Mercer, PA sorted out, since “John JOHNSON” is such a common name. Could you please take a look at what I have below and see if he sounds familiar? Is this one of your John JOHNSONs?

Here’s what I know –

My 4th g-grandfather was John JOHNSON, of Mercer, Mercer/Trumbull Co., PA. No birthdate, but he was an early resident of Coitsville, Trumbull Co., Ohio in 1803, and was the Town Treasurer in 1807. He was “a prosperous farmer” of Scotch ancestry and was a Presbyterian. He married Jane CALDWELL of Trumbull or Beaver Co., PA, the daughter of William CALDWELL and Mary (MCEWIN) CALDWELL. John JOHNSON died bef 1881, and his wife Jane died bef. 1882.
They had at least 3 sons: David JOHNSON d. 1881; John JOHNSON d. aft 1882; and my ancestor, Samuel Caldwell JOHNSON (1813-1888) m. 1839 Henrietta BELL (1819-1881).

Any information, leads or tips would be much appreciated!
