When you have a chance could you look for William Burnett of Brookfield, died 1863. Where is Newton Falls library? Many thanks for your efforts.
Anyone out there have more information on Capt. Burnett's Company, OVC, listed in the Charles Montgomery of Brookfield obituary.

Sussex Co., NJ to Trumbull Co., OH

Thanks for the obit check, Karen.

New question: Anybody on this list have Trumbull Co. ancestors that migrated from Sussex Col, NJ? My Agney family came from Sussex, NJ. I know there were others that came from there as well. Just curious if anyone else is researching people who made this particular migration.

You're welcome to everyone!! I work at the Library, so I can get my hands on the book any time you need it.

If I come across any info on Burnett's Company, I'll post it. I work in the Local History room, and you never know what you are going to find!

My 4ggrandfather, William, migrated from Mendham Twp, Morris County NJ to settle in Trumbull around Hubbard finally settling in Brookfield. Sussex was formed from Morris and many relatives and neighbors from 1700s NJ census and tax lists, etc. of Sussex, Morris, and Essex show up in the Trumbull and Mercer County PA area-Burnet(t), Axtell, Condit to name a few. There are still Burnetts in Mendham and I grew up in Ashtabula.

Karen,
One more question if you don't mind - when you say "reference only", am I to understand that there may be another source that lists the full obituary? It seems the Western Chronicle Reserve would be the place to look.

By the way, it sure is nice of you to offer this help to us that don't live within the area.

If and when you have time can you see if there are records for a Mary Allen Jewell, her husbund George Jewell, or their son Alphues Jewell. I beleive Mary and Aplhues died in 1850. George about 1828 or so.

The names I'm researching that seem to have the link to Sussex are Agney and Christy. Not sure how the Christy family is related to me, but my 3g-grandfather, Anning Agney, was living in Trumbull Co. in the 1850 census and surrounded by Christy families. I also have a photo of a Christy man that in inscribed to "Aunt Nancy" on the back of the photo.
