Mary Louise (Mary Lou) Shores of Bailey Lakes, Ohio passed on Thursday, June 1, 2017.
She was a native of Barberton, Ohio the daughter of the late Warren and Eva (Clark) Shoemaker.

She was a former secretary. She had worked for Seiberling Rubber Company of Barberton prior to her marriage, later for the U.S. Army Engineers on Fort Clayton in the Panama Canal Zone, and the U.S. Dept. of the Navy in Washington D.C.
She had Top Secret Clearance while working for the U.S. Navy Dept.
Her last position was with the Research & Development Dept. of Abbott Laboratories in Ashland, OH.

She was a former member of The International Association of Pacemaker Patients; Mansfield Art Center; The Barberton Historical Society. She was a former hospital volunteer, and served eight years as a Cub Scout Leader.

She was a world traveler, and was proud of having climbed The Great Wall of China, and kissing The Blarney Stone in Ireland.
She loved her friends, feline companions, adventure, flowers, the Y, music, theater, art, chocolate, family history, humor, letters, recipes, holidays, sunny days, rainy nights, books, simple things, feeding the birds, learning, accomplishment….and much more.

n addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Charles, (in 2011) , whom she married in 1951 in the Panama Canal Zone, an infant daughter, Linda, son, Scott, and brother Maynard Shoemaker.

She is survived by her sons, Carl of Chandler, Arizona and Kevin (Robynne) of Ashland, OH; grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Friends may call on Tuesday, June 6, 2017 from 2:00 to 4:00 P.M. and 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Heyl Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be conducted by Pastor Harry Strachan at Heyl Funeral Home on Wednesday, June 7, 2017 at 11:00 A.M.
Burial will follow at Savannah Cemetery.
