Looking for any information on my greatgrand father Stephen Butash who migrated from Austrial or Yugoslovia through Elis Ilsand to Summit County, Akron Ohio in the very early 1900's he was about 13 years old at the time. He eventually married Mary Nanyko I believe in Michigan. Time not know.

I belive that my Grandfather Stephen Butash arrived at Ellis island in 1901. from what I can See he was About 11 years old. I belive he married my Grandother Mary Nyanko in Ohio Since all theri children were born in Ohio. The Country he came from was Austria-Hungary which after World War I became Yougoslavia.

Hello. My name is Michelle Palumbo (Guard. My Grandfather was John M. Butas. He was born in Cleveland, Ohio, December 24, 1906 and passed away in December 15, 1997. I know nothing of any other relatives of his. He was married to my Grandmother, Virginia Mae Morris and they had one child, my mother, Donna E. Butas. If anyone has any info on this lineage, please pass it on! Thanks!

Also the Cleveland Necrology file has 9 Butas/Butash surname people listed. You can find the index at www.cpl.org Then click on the Cleveland Necrology File icon on the left side of the home page. Searching for Butas alone will bring up a bunch of obits with citations to the newspapers that printed them.

Hope this helps!
