Are there any out there related to Powells that settled in Stark County before 1850? My g-g-grandfather, Stephen Powell was born in 1816 in NY according to the 1860 NE census. Obituaries and death certificates of his children are confusing with England and MA listed. At some point the family moved to Ohio (around 1820-30?). He was married to Isabelle Mapps Dec. 1841 in Stark County. About 1848 they sold land in Stark county and moved to Will County, IL. About 1850 they moved to IA and in 1857 moved to Johnson County, NE. There is a Powell cousins reunion every year in eastern NE with cousins from the descendants of Stephen and Isabelle. We would very much like to find the names of Stephen's parents and the place of his birth. Children of Stephen and Isabelle were William, Fanny, Angeline, Jane, Thomas, Stephen, John, Joseph, and Elizabeth. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
