During the 1830s Wendelin Bucher and his wife Magdalena Halter were raising their family as Catholics in Stark County. Magdalena's parents, Louis and Magdalena Royer Halter also were here at this time. So, too, was the family of Johann Michael (or Michael Johann) Morper. Bucher baptisms are found in the church records of St. John Church in Canton. I am attempting to determine when these families first arrived in Stark County. By the early 1840s all had left for Missouri.
