Hello, I read your Overmyer History and part of it traces along the path of my family History. The part where they are in New Berlin, Union County (was then Northumberland County). My 4th great grandfather George Mitchel moved there in 1790 from Bucks County and his farm started at a tree on Penns Creek. He had a son Jacob Mitchel and Jacob had a son named Uriah. In 1850 Uriah and his wife Mary (Smith) Mitchel moved to Lindsey, Ohio, Sandusky County. Uriah changed his last name to Mitchell, two L's. This family is buried in the Lindsey Cemetery and a large head stone there states the Overmier Family Plot. Uriah's son married Rebecca Henricks and also in this family is one John Overmier b. December 24, 1806 in Union County PA. His second wife was Sarah Henricks. This is all in the Hufford Family History Book. The Huffords also fought in the Revolutionary War. It is from this family which includes the Henricks and the Mitchel's
and David's son Lewis who was the father to my mother Lucille Mitchell that I am related.
