Ridgaway was a native of Fayette County, born August 28, 1839 at Washington Courthouse, OH. May have went by the name Richard or Ridgie. He spent most of his early years in Fayette County and his parents names were Mitchell and Amanda (Stewart) Knott. Amanda Stewart's father could have been William Stewart.

After traveling out west he returned to Fayette County and married a Syphord, Sypherd, Siford or Syford lady, I have different first names for her Lydie, Avbilla, or Eliza August 15, 1850 or 1851. She was born Jun 20, 1838. Her parents were John and Edith "Eda" (Eige) Siford. They settled in Lindsey, OH Sandusky County

He had at least 1 brother John Noah Knott, who was also born in Fayette County. Could have been in Washington Courthouse, Ohio in 1861. He settled in Fremont, OH Sandusky County. Married Elizabeth Downs at Findlay on April 20th, 1881.

I would love to find his birth certificate etc. any info would be appreciated. Thanks in advance

Also on Mitchell we have very little info he was the son of Gustavus Knott and Elizabeth Cloyd. He born in PA around 1829. They moved to Fayette County, the family appears in the 1850 census in Fayette County, OH. Gus was born in Maryland in 1787. Any info on him would be great too!
