HEMET, CA: Earl Elwood "Hotly" Bowers, 93, of Hemet, California, passed away July 19, 2015 at Hemet.

He was born March 20, 1922, at Three Locks, Ross County, Ohio, son of Earl and Sylvia Bowers.
On November 22, 1941, he married the love of his life Ladona "Donna" Mary Groves who died September 19, 2001, at Hemet, CA.

He is survived by his second wife, Verna; and his son, Dennis Allen Bowers of Hemet; his brothers, Bernard and Robert (Evelyn) Bowers of Chillicothe, OH; sisters, Rosemary (James) Murphy of Proctorville, Joan (Robert) Casari and June Straub of Chillicothe; and many nephews and nieces.
He was preceded in death by sister, Jean (Paul) Dittman; and nephew, Charles "Chip" Maxey.

Elwood served in World War II with distinction in the US Army Air Corps as a radioman/top gunner in B-24 bombers in the South Pacific until the war's end.

He and his partner operated Bowers Heating and Air Conditioning contracting firm in Anaheim, California, for many years, during which he was a union member and Apprenticeship President. After retiring, he returned to Ross County, Ohio where he and Donna lived for over a decade north of Chillicothe before finally locating in Hemet.

Graveside services honoring his military service were held July 28 at Riverside National Cemetery at Riverside, California.
