MARTINSVILLE, IN: John Justin "Jack" Connor, 69, Martinsville, Indiana, was born in 1946 and passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, July 9, 2015.
Jack graduated from Paint Valley High School in Bainbridge, OH; he then served in the U.S. Air Force during Vietnam.
He later attended The Ohio State University and graduated with a degree in Chemical Engineering.
Jack was the world-wide account manager for Hewlett Packard and DuPont, and was involved in the first satellite uplink for commercial purposes.
Jack had a deep passion for gardening, wine, music, bass guitar, sailing, and golfing, hunting with his grandfather, fast cars, books, and traveling.
He was also known for the time the Hell's Angels leader, Ralph "Sonny" Barger, pierced his ear, and for holding the record of shortest time in drag racing from Bainbridge to Chillicothe in 9 minutes.
He is survived by his spouse, Rhiannon Michele (McCurry) of Martinsville; stepson, Sebastian; stepdaughter, Madeleine Keck; brother, Eric (Veronica) Priest; sister, Marilyn Priest; nieces, Elizabeth (Jason) Labbe, Erica (Mike) Gutierrez, Ivy Gutierrez, and Emily Welsh; nephews, Phoenix Labbe, Sage Labbe, Kai Gutierrez, and Jonathan Welsh; aunt, Rose Ann Newbrey; cousins, Cathy and Dennis Newbrey.
Jack was preceded in death by his grandparents, George and Clara Burnet; parents, "Bud" and Justine Priest; uncle, Lawrence "Newb" Newbrey.
Funeral services will take place at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 19, 2015 at Costin Funeral Chapel, 539 East Washington Street, Martinsville, Indiana 46151.
Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 19, 2015 at Costin Funeral Chapel, and run until the service time.
