I checked the newspapers for 18, 25, and 31 Mar 1874. (They were weekly printings.) I found no obituary, death notice, or story for Samuel Myton. That is not unusual for that time, particularly in cases where the person lived in a rural area at the far edge of the county.
I think it's a long shot, but you might try a post to the Pickaway county message board; Circleville is the closest city to Yellowbud.
