I am interested in information on the family and ancestry of Alois Rueb who was born in 1833 in Neuenburg, Baden, Germany and immigrated to Ross County sometime before 1854 when his eldest son, John (my ancestor) was born. He married a local girl (Eliza Toops) and later moved his family to the Fithian area in Vermilion County, Illinois. Later still he moved with most of his family to Kansas. From web searches, it seems likely that other Ruebs may have come with Alois to Ross County from Germany and still have descendants there. Thanks for any information.
