Surnames: Funston, Bloomfield
I am searching for information on my Grandfather, Harold Funston. He was born in or near Mansfield, OH somewhere around 1900. He died around January of 1950 in a magic accident. He was married to Mabel Kountz somewhere in Ohio, probably near Cincinnati or Cuyahoga Falls. They had three children, Ronald, Robert and Wanita.
Harold traveled with Blackstone the Magician and was set to appear in the NY Worlds fair in the 40's that never happened. He was also listed in the Guiness Book of World records for something. We have never been able to substantiate this from Guiness.
Harold's parents were John and Nettie Funston. Nettie was a Bloomfield either before or after she married John. She did come to the marriage with a son. But that son was adopted by John.
Another marker for this family is that John's marriage to a divorce or widow whatever Nettie was. Brought some sort of scandal to the Funstons of Mansfield, OH. They are tight-lipped and I could use some help in shedding light on Harold and his family.
Our family was also in possession of a dagger that was supposed to belong to General Funston during his Philippine campaign. It has since has disappeared.
You see, lots of mystery here. Help please.
