CHILLICOTHE: Vernon E. Wood, 82, of State Route #50, Chillicothe, Ohio, died 5:40 a.m. Saturday, 13 June, 2015 in the Chillicothe Veteran Administration Hospital.

He was born 8 July, 1932 in Waverly, Ohio the son of the late Lawrence Benjamin Wood and Lillian Marie (Hatfield) Wood.
On 16 August, 1954 Vernon was united in marriage to Barbara Ann (Stuckey) Wood, who survives; also surviving are a son, Scott Wood, daughter, Cindy Daniels and husband, Greg, both of Chillicothe, OH; seven grandchildren including Alex Wood and Danena and daughter, Braelynn; and a sister, Janet L. Branson of Chillicothe, OH.
Vernon formerly attended Chillicothe Walnut Street United Methodist Church, was a self-employed construction contractor and a farmer.
Vernon served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict.
His parents, three brothers, Willard, Robert and Harold Wood and a sister, Betty Martin preceded Vernon in death.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, 17 June, 2015 at the BOYER FUNERAL HOME in Waverly, OH.
Burial will follow in Omega Cemetery, Waverly, Ohio. (Pike County)
