PIKETON: Daisy Elizabeth Ward, age 88, of S.R. 772, Piketon, Ohio, died 8:10 A.M. Sunday, October 6, 2013 at her residence.

She was born February 2, 1925 in the Smith Hill Community of Pike County, Ohio, a daughter of the late Herman and Grace Williams Abbott.
On September 22, 1945 she was united in marriage to Denver Sylvester Ward who preceded her in death September 9, 1998.

She is survived by one son, Mickey Finn Ward and wife, Vicki Lynn of Piketon, Ohio; four grandchildren, Becky Sevens and husband, Mathew of Waverly, Ohio, Amanda Ward of Piketon, Jessee Swepston and Felicia Swepston, both of Piketon; nine great grandchildren, Zachary Tackett, Jacob Sevens, Evanna Swepston, Joseph Swepston, Abigail Looney, Cassidy Looney, Dakota Swepston, Desirea Swepston, Brayden Swepston; and one sister, Flossie Cutler of Grove City, Ohio.

She was preceded in death by one brother, Earnel Abbott; and two sisters, Hazel Williams and Ruth Miller.

Daisy was a member of the Cotties Corner Community Church, and was a former employee of Mitchell Lace of Portsmouth, Ohio.

Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M. Thursday at the Cotties Corner Community Church with Pastor Danny Campbell officiating.
Burial will follow in Smith Hill Cemetery.
