MANSFIELD: Opal L. Majors passed away unexpectedly Monday, June 4, 2012 at MedCentral Shelby Hospital.
She was born January 6, 1931 to the late Dalton and Icel (Welch) Wilson of Hemlock, Ohio. Opal was 81 years old.
She was a graduate of Ontario High School and also a member of Ontario United Methodist Church. She worked at Westinghouse for several years and retired from Raintree. Opal dearly loved sitting in the back yard watching birds and looking for deer.
She is survived by a son, Douglas (Dianne) Majors of PA; daughter, Dee Majors-Curtis of TX; grandchildren, Samual Majors, Joseph (Amanda) Majors, Christopher, J.C. and Jackson Curtis; great-grandchildren, Apple and Olive Majors and Anabella, Lillyan, Joelle and Xavier Majors; a brother, Jim Wilson and his companion, Loretta of Thornville, Ohio; sisters, Louella (Frank) Lyon of Lexington, Ohio, Gloria (Ed) Waite of Bellville, Ohio, Marilyn Yost of KY; and several nieces and nephews including special niece, Brenda Marti. She was preceded in death by her husband, Acel Ray Majors; parents; grandparents; two brothers, Virgil and Jerry Wilson; and a sister, Barbara Wilson.
Friends may visit from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, June 7, 2012 at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Rd. A funeral service will be held Friday at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home. Opal's nephew, Pastor Jim Wilson of Westerville, Ohio and her grandson, Joseph Majors of Worthington will conduct the service. Burial will follow in Mansfield Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, 1120 G Street NW, Suite 700, Washington, DC 20005 in memory of Ray Majors, Chuck Majors, Billy Majors, Virgil Wilson and Jerry Wilson.
