I am looking for any family history connected to Ethel, my gg grandmother. Family stories suggest Ethel had her first daughter, Lorna Blanche, out of wedlock. I cannot find Ethel in the area in the 1920 census, about the time Lorna would be ~2-3 yrs old, she reappears in 1930 married to Dewey Hickman. In the 1930 census 12-yr old Lorna is not with her mom, but living with her Grandparents, Millberry and Della Wickham and with the last name Wickham. The rumor is Lorna was illegitimate and a Ball. As it happens, Harley H. Ball (son of David and Martha A) was a neighbor and around Ethel's age.
I am not sure where Lorna was born (other than Ohio), and have not had the chance to find birth certificates. Any family histories that may shed light here?
