Harry Ray Hendershot, age 76, of Caldwell, died Friday, January 14, 2005, at Summit Acres Nursing Home, Caldwell. He was born June 13, 1928, in Belmont County, Ohio, son of the late Anson and Eva Boughner Hendershot. He retired from the former Clevite Bronze plant at Caldwell in 1993 after 41 years of service, and he retired in 1990 from Caldwell Exempted Village Schools as a bus driver after 21 years of service. He was a member of St. Stephen Catholic Church, Caldwell.

Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by one brother, Charles Hendershot; two sisters, Sara King and Margie Ogle; and an infant sister, Eugena Hendershot.

Surviving are his wife of 56 years, Ruth Enid Garvin Hendershot, whom he married March 13, 1948; two daughters, Mrs. Rick (Carol) Saling of Caldwell and Linda Lou Williams of Burlington, North Carolina; two sons, Kenny (Becky) Hendershot of Caldwell and Jay (Mary) Hendershot of Sarahsville; one brother, Don (Janet) Hendershot of Senecaville; nine grandchildren, Jamie, Adam, Simon, Jonathan, Nathan, Kimberly, Stacey, Rodney, and Michael; 8 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call Monday, January 17, 2005, from 3-5 and 7-9PM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, Caldwell. Mass of Christian burial will be Tuesday, January 18, at 10:30AM at St. Stephen Catholic Church, Caldwell, with Father Dale Tornes as celebrant. Burial will be at Dudley Cemetery.
