John Earl Kronenbitter, 88, of 211 Schaum avenue, Zanesville died at 11:43 p.m. Thursday at Bethesda Hospital shortly after being admitted after suffering an apparent heart attack.
He was born May 5, 1888, in Zanesville, and was a retired employe of the Old Provision Company and Rittberger Brothers.
Mr. Kronenbitter was a member of Coburn United Methodist Church, the IOOF, Rebekah Lodge and the Zane Trail Camping Club.
Surviving are his widow, Mary Ann Slack Kronenbitter; a son Earl Jr. of Canton; two daughters, Mrs. Erma Abele of Blue Rock and Mrs. Freda Hamilton of Norwalk; a brother, Herbert Kronenbitter of 2700 Wayne Ridge road, nine grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
Service for John Earl Kronenbitter, who died Thursday will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at DeLong and Baker Funeral Home. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
