Will of William S. Ray
1 March 1859
I WM G RAY being week of body but sound of mind do hereby appoint my wife MARY and may son ALFEUS RAY as executors of property as follows viz ---
The farm may be rented out at three hundred dollars a year one third which is one hundred dollars set apart as a dower for my wife to be paid as she requires it to continue for life or as long as She remains my widow.
The land & stock is to be equally divided between JAMES & ELIGAH RAY Subject to the payment of the other Legatees
ALPHEUS Ray & WM Ray shall have each one thousand Dollars, Five Hundred each one year after my death & five Hundred Eight years after if alive but if either dies within that time then the last five Hundred cannot be drawn.
The family to live together as long as they can make it convenient But when they think proper to divide the land it (something scratched out) Shall be divided by a line through the center from Chamber’s line east to
Lees line West ELIGAH receiving the North & JAMES the South side But if either of the Landholders should get in debt so as they could not redeem it in a reasonable time it then returns into the hands of the Executor to be rented to a good tenant to pay the debt and support the delinquent.
