The following document is the Last Will and Testament of Michael Kreis filed in the Probate Court of Muskingum County, Ohio.

In the name of the benevolent father of all I Michel Kreise of Adams Township, Muskingum County, Ohio. Do make and publish this my last will and testament

Item first I give and devise to my beloved wife in lien of her dower the farm on which we now reside situated in Adams Township Muskingum County, Ohio containing one hundred and twenty acres during her natural life and all the personal property and household goods furniture provisions and chattels which may be thereon at the time of my decease during her natural life so long as she remains my widow and also selling so much of the property as to pay my debts if any. and if she maryes again then I give and devise to Sofiah, Jacob, Sarah and Elizabeth and Adaline my children each one of them an equal share of all my estate. I do hereby revoke all former wills by me made in testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this eleventh day of June AD 1857
