Springer Deceased
Court of Common
Pleas, July 1837, to wit, on the 12th day of August 1837, last will & Testament of John
Springer deceased was this day produced, and James ........... and Robert
Cowan, the .......witnesses thereto, being in open court daily and....declared that said will was duly ..........that the home of .......of executing the same was of full age, and sound in memory and not under any ............ W.....said will, together with the proof thereof, be received and that Letters Testamentary issue to Joseph
Springer, the Executor named in said Will, who was in open
Court sworn as such to give bond in the some of $10,000. James
Kitchen and
Jeremiah Springer are accepted as security.
WILL
In the name of God amen. I John
Springer of Muskingum county and state of ohio being weak in body but of sound mind and memory, do make and publish this my lst will and testament in manner and form .....................that is to say...
First I give and bequeath unto my wife Rebacca
Springer the one third of all the grain and hay her life time which is raised on the old home place, whis is a part of the can(?) half of section number sixteen in township No sixteen of range No. fourteen, also to have the old home and pasture for a horse and cow all her life time..also I give and bequeath to my wife Rebacca all my movable property.
I also give and bequeath to my sons
Cornelous Springer, Jacob
Springer, Joseph
Springer and Isaac
Springer the sum of one dollar each.
I further give and devise to my son
Jeremiah Spring his house and assign the above discribed tract or parcel of land to heirs the said
Jeremiah Springer his heirs and assigns forever. Also my will is that my said son
Jeremiah is to pay my daughters
Liddy Hamilton four hundred dollars; Elonor
Wortman five hundred dollars, Eliza
Wiley five hundred dollars and Rebecca Cohran three hundred and forty dollars. All the above mentioned names to be paid two years after my decease.
I further give and bequeth to my daughter in law Elizabeth
Springer widow of my son Andrew
Springer the following tracts or parcels of land lying and being in county of Seneca
Ohio during her life time .............................quater of section No 26 in township No one North of Range No 13 containing 40 acres.
The west part of the north west quarter of section No 35 in township ........North Range No 13 containing 67 acres.
I further give and devise after the death of my daughter in law Elizabeth
Springer all the last mentioned tracts or parcels of land lying in
Seneca County Ohio to my grand children Rebecca
Springer, John
Springer, Mary E. Springer,
Almada Springer,
Meres Springer and Lucrise
Springer, children of the said Elizabeth to them the said Rebecca, John, Mary E., Almada,
Meres and Lucrise there heirs and assigns forever.
Lastly, I hereby appoint my son Joseph
Springer Executor of this my last will and testament hereby revoking all former wills by me made. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the 15th day of April the year of our
