The State of
Ohio,
Muskingum County Court of Probate July 21st 1853.
The last will and testament of John
Fowler, late of said County deceased, was this day produced in
Court and duly proved by the oaths of William
Lind and Peter L. Westbrook the attending and subscribing witnesses thereto whose testamony in such behalf was reduced to writing and duly filed and, is appearing to the satisfaction of the
Court from said testamony that the said testator was at the time of executing and signing his said last will and testament of full age, of sound mind and memory and free from any restraint it was therefore by the
Court ordered that the said last will and testament be and the same is hereby admitted to probate, and that the same together with the accompanying testamony and this entry of probate be duly recorded.
Will
In the name of the Benivolent Father of all. I John
Fowler of the County of Muskingum and State of
Ohio do make and publish this my last will and testament.
Item 1st I devise and bequeath to my son John
Fowler one hundred Dollars. Item 2nd I devise and bequeath to my son William
Fowler Six hundred dollars. Item 3rd I devise and bequeath to my Daughter
Harriet, wife of James
Priest one hundred Dollars. Item 4th I devise and bequeath to my daughter Elizabeth wife of William
Queen one hundred Dollars. Item 5th I devise and bequeath to the children of my daughter Ruth
Bodle, decd one hundred Dollars. Item 6th I devise and bequeath to the children of my daughter
Lear Abbot decd one hundred Dollars. Item 7th I devise and bequeath to the children of my daughter Nancy
Lewton decd one hundred Dollars. Item 8th I devise and bequeath the residue of my estate when turned into money to be equally divided with all the above named heirs together with my other two sons Thomas
Fowler and Josiah
Fowler. Item 9th I do hereby nominate and appoint William
Lind Executor of this my last will and testament hereby authorising and empowering him to sell by private or public sale, all my real estate and personal property. In testimoney whereof I have hereunto set my hand seal this 6th day of January in the year 1853.

Fowler late of said County deceased was produced in writing and Peter L. Westbrook and William
Lind the attesting and subscribing witnesses thereto being duly sworn and examined in open
Court declared that said Testator John
Fowler deceased, was at the time of executing and signing said last will and testament of full age of sound mind and memory and free from any restraint, that he signed the same in their presence and that they heard him acknowledge said instrument of writing as and for his last will and testament and that they subscribed their names as witnesses thereto in his presence. I certify that the foregoing testimony was taken in open
Court and reduced to writing by me and taken at the time and place above specified.
