Brenda,
Have been trying to find the parents of Julia Ann Roberts born 1817 (or1815), died 1902, married Emanuel Bugh 11 Aug 1839, Muskingum Co., Ohio. Some info I have leads me to William R. Roberts and Frances may be her parents. Do you have any info in this regard?

Any help would be appreciated. Have been looking for years.

Carole

No, Carole, sorry; I don't know anything further about this William R. Roberts and wife Frances. I, probably along with many others like yourself, am trying to figure out the Roberts families of Newton Twp. and had ordered this will from Sampubco. Turns out I don't think I have any connection to this particular Roberts family.

Brenda,
Think I have figured out my line to William R. Roberts. There's two groups of Roberts that came to Muskingum Co., Ohio, one from Maryland (my line) and another from Virginia. Have most all of the Muskingum Co. "lookup books" published by MCGS, if I can help find anything for you. You may descend from the Virginia group and have some wills etc. from this group. Let me know which Roberts names you are researching.

Thanks.

Carole

Thanks for the information. Now I will have to see where Amos Roberts fits in. He was b.1849 d. 1934 according to headstone reading of Fultonham Cemetery by MUCoGS, although the 1880 census lists him his age as 28 (b.1852). In 1880 he was living beside Manley ROBERTS age 49 OH Farmer VA VA & Sarah A. ROBERTS Wife age 46 OHIO OHIO. So I suspect he was the s/o Manley & Sarah A. Will have to check earlier census records.

Have a copy of the original will of Henry Roberts (wife Phobe), father of William. Will try to scan and send if you like. It is four pages; advise an email address.

Wonder how the Maryland and Virginia Roberts are connected.

Carole, I would appreciate a copy of the Will. I sent a more extensive message to carlisle@yahoo.com but it was returned saying they had no account with this name. Please contact me, the message was of a more personal nature.

Janice,
Please provide email and I will send a copy of the Will. It is a bit difficult to read (copy from microfilm), but since I'm in the area will try to get a copy from the original book, which I think the County has. In the meantime, I'll send what I have.

I really would appreciate it. Do you live in Muskingum Co? I lived there (E.Fultonham and Zanesville) until I was 27 (50 years ago) and moved to Florida which is where my husband is from. Do you want the information I have.

I'm looking for the parents of Julia Maude Roberts born 10MAR1909 in Ohio. I have tried to find her and her family in the 1910 and 1920 censuses with no luck. She married Carl Wesley Moyer on 26DEC1929. I know for sure that Carl Wesley Moyer was born in Muskingum County, and have been lead to believe that Julia Maude Roberts was born there as well, but I'm not sure. Carl and Julia are found in the 1930 census in Cleveland. In that census, Julia says that her father was born in VA and her mother in OH.
Can you help me?
Thanks,
Janice

Janice,
do you know when Julia Moyer died? If so maybe an obituary will help.
From what I can find on ancestry for the census: James M and Alcidanna Roberts both born in Ohio; could be her parents, they are in Blue Rock Township, Muskingum Co., Ohio
Name: Julia M. Moyer
SSN: 280-32-8087
Last Residence: 86314 Prescott Valley, Yavapai, Arizona, United States of America
Born: 10 Mar 1909
Died: 13 Sep 2003
State (Year) SSN issued: Ohio (1952-1954

I know she said that her father was born in VA; but sometimes that is wrong depending upon who gave the information.
hope this helps.
I have most of Muskingum Co. books and live in AZ

Kyle,
Thanks for your response. You definitely have the right death notice. Julia Roberts Moyer did die in Yavapai County, AZ. Since my posting, I have been given additional information by the family. Julia's parents were Stephen Roberts and Maude DeWitt. The family thinks they may have been from the Canton, OH area, but they aren't sure.
If that rings a bell, let me know.
By the way, I live in Phoenix. Where are you located?
Thanks again,
Janice
