Samuel Vernon deceased
And the examination and testimony of the attesting and subscribing witnesses to said Will taken in open court, reduced to writing and filed, and so ordered to be recorded, is now here accordingly recorded as follows, to wit:
The State of
Ohio} Probate
Court within and for said
Muskingum County} county April 26th A. D. 1861.
"The last Will and
Testament of Samuel Vernon, deceased, late of
Muskingum County,
Ohio, was this day produced in writing in open court, and duly proved by the oaths of John
Bateman and
Washington Walters (
Watters?), the attesting and subscribing witnesses to said will whose testimony in this behalf was reduced to writing and duly filed, and thereupon, it appearing to the court from the said testimony, that the said will was duly executed and attested, and that the said testator Samuel Vernon deceased, was at the time of executing and signing the same of full age, and of sound mind and memory, and free from any restraint. It is therefore by the court ordered, that the said last Will and
Testament be, and the same is hereby admitted to probate, and that the same together with the said testimony and this entry be duly recorded."

I Samuel Vernon of
Washington Township
Muskingum County Ohio Do Make and Publish this my last Will and
Testament.
Item 1 (I) give and dvise to my sone
Washington Vernon Seventy acres of my Farm on the East Side Runing the lines thru North and South all so fifteen acres on the North Side runing then? To the
Bowers Road thense south on said rode to a Point to in cloud the fifteen acres thense to said west line.
Item 2d I give and devis to my three sones Aaron Vernon and Allen Vernon and
Noah Vernon the
Balance of my Farm Being Seventy five acres More or less to be Eaqualy divided be tween them as tha may be tween them selves.
Item 3d I give and dvise to my four dauters Jane Vernon Hariot Vernon Sarah Vernon and Martha Vernon one hundred dollars each at the death of Nancy Vernon To be paid by the foure sones as follos Aaron Vernon to pay Jane Vernon one hundred dollars Allen Vernon to pay Sarah Vernon one hundred dollars
Noah Vernon to pay Hariot Vernon one hundred dollars
Washington Vernon to pay Martha Vernon one hundred dollars.
Item 4d I give and devis to my beloved wife Nancy Vernon so long as shee Remains my wido or during hur natural life the house and Every thing As thay now are and Jane Vernon and Martha Vernon to live with hur as thay have lived or till thay may may mary and go to them selves. And
Washington Vernon is to Maintain his Mothe Nancy Vernon as long as shee Lives and Provid all Nessaries of life That she may require during said Life time.
Item 5d I give and devise to my sone
Washington Vernon all my stock and Farming utentials that I have on the Farm and he shall Pay all my just Debts that I may ow after my desese I allso Require that this will
Remain Without making eney of the devisions mention in the above till after the death of my Beloved wife Nancy Vernon and that
Washington Vernon shall have Controle and the Manegement of the Farm as I have been In the habat of Controling my self.
