PETER BOYD WILL-MUSKINGUM COUNTY, OHIO

In the name of the Benevolent Father of all. I, Peter BOYD of Madison Township, Muskingum County and state of OHIO, do make and publish this my last will and testament.
Item 1st It is my will and desire that all my just and honest debts be paid.
Item 2nd I give and devise and bequeath to my son Willis Sillimon BOYD, and his heirs, the farm on which I now reside, situated on the Muskingum River in Madison Township and County of Muskingum, OHIO.
Item 3rd I give devise and bequeath to my two daughters Samantha BOYD and Sidney BOYD equally and jointly all of the amount of a claim I hold against Alfred White secured by mortgage on his the said White's farm amounting to upwards of six hundred dollars (more or less)
Item 4th I give and devise to my beloved wife in lieu of her dower, the occupancy and the rents and profits of the farm on which I now reside, while she remains my widow for the purpose of enabling her to raise my three children and educate them, it being my desire that Willis be well educated, and also give and bequeath to my beloved wife all of my household and kitchen furniture, including beds and bedding, and all meat? that may be on hand at my death, also two cows and six head of sheep, and twenty bushels of wheat for bread.
Item 5th It is my will and desire that Benjamin Adams shall not be pushed or disturbed for the claim for five hundred dollars which I hold against him until he is ??? and disposed? to pay the same.
Item 6th I give and bequeath to my three children by my first wife Andrew BOYD, Eliza BOYD, and Peggy BOYD the sum of one dollar each.
Item 7th I give and bequeath all of the remainder of my estate of every kind and description to my two children Willis Sillimon BOYD and Sidney BOYD to be divided equally between them.
Item 8th I do hereby nominate and appoint James McCain executor of this my last will and testament, hereby authorizing and empowering him to compromise, adjust, release and discharge in such manner as he may deem proper the debts and claims due me.
I do hereby revoke all former wills by me made.
In testimony whereof, I Peter BOYD have hereunto set my hand and seal this the sixteenth day of April A. D. 1847.

(This Samantha BOYD marries Joseph Sissel 30 March 1851 in Muskingum Co., OH and after his death Samuel White 24 Nov. 1874 in Edgar Co., IL. I believe she dies in Ohio co., WV before 1880)
