John Lindsey Nelson was born 11-12-1847 in Zanesville or Adamsville, Muskingum Co. OH. He married Mary Laura White who was born 11-28-1851 in Columbus. Their children (all born in OH) were William H. born 1870, Gertrude born 1872, James born 1876. They all left OH 8-1-1881 working on the railroad being built to CA. They settled in Kingman/Peach Springs, AZ. Two more children were born there--John L. in 1890 and Laura Mae in 1892. Laura is my grandmother.

John Lindsey Nelson's parents were Thomas Nelson born about 1819 in Ireland and Elizabeth Lindsey born about 1820 in PA. Other children (that I know about) were James born about 1845 and Elizabeth born about 1850.

Mary Laura White Nelson's parents were Martin White born about 1811 in MA and Maria(h)Vandegriff born about 1814 in OH. Their other children were Frances b. 1838, Isabella b. 1841 (married Dewitt Rockwell b. 1838), Josephine b. 1844, Edward b. 1845, William b. 1847, Ermina or Armina b. 1850, Hester E. b. 1853, Benjamin M. b. 1855, Mary E. b. 1857, Charles b. 1859, Addie, Dorothy & maybe W. M. (Buster)(who died 12-8-1926).

I would like to obtain more information on these folks and corresponding with their descendents.
