Surnames: Caylor Kaylor Koehler Kohler
This is to Max Caylor.
So far as I know, only one descendant of George Caylor, Sr. of Blount Co., TN has had yDNA testing. That descendant had the haplogroup R1b1a2 after doing 37 markers. Again, so far as I know, this matches no other Caylor/Kaylor who has done yDNA. Of course, it is always possible there was an extra-marital event somewhere, or an unknown adoption in that lineage, but the paper trail on this descendant is quite good from George Caylor, Jr. on down to north Georgia.
So Max, if you descend from the same George Caylor, Sr., the best we know [until you or another Caylor man with direct male-to-male descent in the Caylor line] is tested, is that so far, there is a lack of any near match to other known Caylor/Kaylor lineages in the US.
