The Ohio Historical society death index is like 1913-1937, ancestry.com's is like 1908-1944 then 1958-2002.... the Dayton Metro library does local obits from 1850-1890, then 1985-present... And the LDS on-line index and images for Ohio are like 1908-1953.... there's also a pretty good obit index at the Rutherford B. Hayes museum website....

Too bad the one I checked wasn't your guy.... that William A. and his wife Mary F. are on my Woodland cemetery cd-rom, with about seven other Peacock's... no William C. however... those are also online at www.woodlandcemtery.org
