WOODSFIELD -- Harold C. Stegner, 83, of North Paul St., died Sunday (Oct. 7, 2001) at the Woodsfield Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
He was born May 16, 1918, in Columbus to Charles W. and Clara Landefeld Stegner. He was the retired owner-operator of the former Stegner Tire Shop of Woodsfield. He was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ at Woodsfield and a 48-year member of the K of P Lodge at Woodsfield.
He is survived by his wife, Ethel Hamilton Stegner of Woodsfield; one son, David Stegner of Houston, Texas; three daughters, Joan Heyman of Wilbraham, Mass., Janet Stegner of Rialto, Calif., and Jill Smiley of Santa Maria, Calif.; two brothers, Edward and Ralph Stegner, both of Fairborn, Ohio; and five grandchildren, Jennifer and Joshua Heyman, Justin Greenberg, and Paige and Chase Smiley.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Ray Stegner.
Services are at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Paul's United Church of Christ at Woodsfield with the Rev. Donald Rock officiating. Burial is in Oaklawn Cemetery in Woodsfield. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Bauer-Turner Funeral Home, 100 S. Paul St., Woodsfield.
