It has been a while since there has been any follow-up on the progress of the research.

Wondering what progress and status of the records are at present.

Researchers were:
Andy Miller and Netti (Nau) Halsey

There was a reply on the OHMONROE-L Board:

Subject: Monroe County Parish records transcription

Dear Monroe list,

Andy Miller, here. In response to the earlier posting today, I would just
like to clarify one point. Perhaps I was not specific enough in my email to
Charlie Burkhart.

I am currently *only* working on transcribing the records of St. Joseph's at
Burkhart, and *THEN* St. John's at Miltonsburg.

Currently, I am almost finished with transcribing the records for Burkhart
(1883-1930), which should be completed in the next couple of months. Before I
can say that they are or will be available in whatever format, I need to
discuss this with Father Gaydosik further, to ascertain how to best make this
information easily available to researchers.

While I have the St. John's (Miltonsburg) records started,...that will take
longer than "a couple of months". I just don't want anyone to have unrealistic
expectations. The work is well underway, but by far complete. While I
realize that there are several interested researchers who would like to have access
to this information immediately, I am working as fast, as dilligenetly, and
as thoroughly as I can. This is certainly not something to be rushed, or else
the quality will suffer.

As for transcribing ALL of the Catholic records for the Monroe County
Parishes,...Gee, I wish I could say that I was that far along. I don't even have the
microfilm for the records of St. Sylvester's, or the Missions of Ozark or
Sardis. Much less the Irish Catholic records of Southern Monroe County. I'm not
even sure that I will attempt to "tackle" all of the Monroe County parishes.
My primary interests lie with: 1) Burkhart; 2) Miltonsburg; 3) Ozark,...and
then, perhaps St Sylvester's.

I just wanted to make that everyone is clear on what I'm doing, so
that no one has expectations beyond my goals.

This whole records transcription is "part and parcel" of a larger
project of writing a parish history for St. Joseph's (Burkhart). My cousin, Netti
(Nau) Halsey, and I are working feverishly to get as much done as we can. In
addition to transcribing the Burkhart records, we're doing a complete
cemetery census of both Chapel Hill and the lower Burkhart cemetery. We are also
collecting as many parish family genealogies as we can, with old photos from the
connected families.

I just don't want anyone to think that we/I are attempting to do *ALL*
of the Catholic parishes for Monroe County. That is beyond the scope of what
I/we are working on. That would a Herculean effort, to be sure.

As soon as we have our work done, and available to be distributed,...believe
me,....I'll be the first to shout it from the roof tops. In the mean
time,...please be patient. We're working to the best of our abilities.

Sincerely,
Andy Miller and Netti (Nau) Halsey

There has not been reported any updates on the progress.

Seems like there maybe a disconnect because messages posted to the OHMOROE-L are not posted here.

Messages posted here are "gatewayed" (Posted) to the OHMOROE-L but the responses are not.
