Touchy Subject About the VanBuskirk Clan
I'm not even sure how to approach this subject.
My 4th Great Grandfather, Michael Van Buskirk resided in Bowling Green Township, Marion County throughout the 1850's, 60's and 70's. On the 1870 Federal Census. he has a number of his children living with him with the three oldest, his daughters, being listed as "prostitutes" for their occupations. There are also 4 children under the age of 10 living with him listed as his son and daughters but I suspect that isn't true due to his age (74) and theirs. I suspect that they are in fact the offspring of his daughters.
I am very interested in finding out whatever I can about this family.
I believe Michael Van Buskirk died between the years of 1870 and 1880 as there is no record of him being on a census after 1870.
