Marjean and monnett..
Thank you both for your input.
Marjean, thank you for correcting me on the fact that the Census does not specifically designate who the parents are of the 4 youngest Van Buskirk children. My mistake, thanks for setting me straight.
MonnettOhio said, "But for these folks in Green Camp Township, all we have is our opinions based on this one document, which should lead those of us who find it curious to look for other pieces of primary source information to verify its reliability."
Monnett, I wouldn't have started this thread if I didn't want to verify the information on the Census. All I can do is take the meaning of what it says on the census literally unless I have documentation to the contrary. I understand that enumerators made mistakes over the years when it came to names, ages and such. Again, that is why I posted to this message board, to find the facts.
You have mentioned Gracie Pollock and have mentioned having multiple sources that documents that this type of activity did occur. Would you mind sharing with me the dates that you have that refers to Gracie and her business? Something that you have may help lead me to where I need to go.
Thank you for any assistance you are willing to give me.
Tammy
