VIENNA – William “Smokin Bill” Patsey Jr., 62, passed away Wednesday, June 24, 2015, at St. Elizabeth Health Center.

He was born to the late William and Elva (Fridley) Patsey on July 20, 1952, in Warren, Ohio.

“Bill” had a long career in music, starting at WNIO out of Niles, Ohio and then with WHOT out of Youngstown as DJ “Smokin Bill.”
He was a legend on the radio in Youngstown, Ohio for more than 40 years.
He was also an exceptional bass guitar player and enjoyed playing with Rick Magee and the Roundhouse Rockers for many years.
Bill’s other great love was riding his Harley Davidson, and he was known for helping start the first bike night at Quaker Steak and Lube in Sharon, Pa.
He was an avid camper and enjoyed spending his free time “at camp.”

Bill also had many accomplishments, including achieving his fifth degree black belt in Karate and was in the Guinness Book of World Records for brick breaking.
Finally, Bill was a strong supporter of many charities in the community, including Toys for Tots and Earth Angel Farm.

Bill is survived by the love of his life, Judy Wike; children Patrick (Lauren) John Patsey and Brittani Wilson; grandchildren Brooklynn and Madison; sister Patricia (Jim) Harvey; aunt Josephine Maggiano; as well as Melissa Werth; many nephews, nieces, and cousins; and many, many friends.
Cremation services will be private.

Family and friends invite you to celebrate Bill’s life on Wednesday, July 1, 2015, at Quaker Steak and Lube Bike Night (Tully’s Bar and Grill), 110 Connley Blvd., Sharon, PA. at 6 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be made to Earth Angel Farm, 983 Niles Cortland Road, SE, Warren, OH 44484. -
