YOUNGSTOWN -
Lois A. Humphrey Henderson was granted eternal rest on Feb. 26, 2015, at her residence.
Mrs. Henderson was born Aug. 21, 1930, in Youngstown, Ohio (Mahoning County) a daughter of Lingar C. and Lovice Mitchell Humphrey.
She attended South High School and was a devoted member of the Lincoln Avenue Christian Church. She later united with the Alpha and Omega First Baptist Church, where she remained a faithful member until her health prevented her from attending.
She was formerly employed with the U.S. Postal Service, retiring in 1996, after 31 years of loyal service.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her loving daughter, Virginia Henderson, with whom she made her home; her brother, Lingar Humphrey; her brother-in-law, James (Roberta) Henderson; her beloved grandchildren, Kevin (Jennifer) Stringer, and Nicole Stringer; her great-grandchildren, Chaz and Autumn Stringer, Sebastian Johnson, and Jordan Bankhead; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Sandra L. Stringer; her son, David W. Henderson; and her sister, Betty A. Davidson.
A funeral service celebrating the life and legacy of Ms. Lois A. Henderson will be held Tuesday at noon at the Alpha and Omega First Baptist Church.
Friends may call Monday from 3 to 5 p.m. at the J.E. Washington Funeral Home.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, one hour prior to services, at the church. Interment will be in Tod Homestead Cemetery.
