First go to http://news.google.com/newspapers then scroll down to the Vindicator and here you will have a lot of choices but you want the Youngstown Vindicator (the plain Vindicator is only from 1984 on)

Then you choose 1957 or whatever the year you want is, You should be able to find Roosevelt in the obits on the date or the day after, then you can work to the news article when you find the date of the attack (if it isn't the day he died) I thought I would try and google Roosevelt and found this, for his son?
YOUNGSTOWN – Services will be held Monday, Oct. 21, at 11 a.m. at the Shiloh Baptist Church, Campbell, for Mr. Michael “Mickey” Eugene Walker, 58, who transitioned from time into eternity on Sunday, Oct. 13, after an extended illness.

Mr. Walker was born May 14, 1955, in Youngstown, the son of Roosevelt Walker and Lorraine Spencer.

He matriculated through Campbell City Schools, graduating from Campbell Memorial High School.

He was a laborer at LTV Steel, retiring after 30 years of service.

Michael leaves to cherish his memory and honor his legacy, his mother, Lorraine Spencer of Youngstown; his daughter, Tenessa Wills of Youngstown; four sons, Bryant Wills and James (Lissette) Bellamy of Youngstown and Reginald Wills and Michael E. Walker Jr. of Columbus; a sister, Alitha Spencer; four brothers, Larry Walker, Gregory (Annie) Walker, Ronald (Michelle), and Robert (Tina) Spencer and a special friend, Amanda Walker, all of Youngstown; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a host of aunts, uncles, relatives, and friends.

Michael was preceded in death by his father, Roosevelt; his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Walker; his grandmother, Loveder Lewis; and two brothers, Roosevelt Jr. and Joey Walker.

The family would like to thank the caring staff members of Danridge’s Burgundi Manor and Windsor House at Guardian Health Care Center for the professional care rendered to Michael.

Family will receive friends during the visitation hour at 10 a.m. at the church, prior to the service.

Service of care has been entrusted to the Sibley-Murray-Wellington Funeral Home of Alliance.
