LIBERTY TOWNSHIP - Roger W. Morris Sr., 82, passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 10, 2014, at his residence.
Roger was born Oct. 1, 1932, in Youngstown, Ohio, the son of the late Arthur and Blodwyn Williams Morris.
Roger retired as a self-employed plumber, owning Morris Plumbing Co. for over 30 years.
Roger served his country during the Korean War in the Army as a paratrooper.
He had been a member of the Church Hill United Methodist Church.
Roger loved to read, especially about the Civil War and politics and was an avid Ohio State football fan.
He had a wonderful sense of humor and loved getting together with his family, especially around the holidays.
He is survived by his loving wife, the former, Jennie Lee Lipscomb, whom he married Feb. 21, 1954; his daughter, Debra (David) Newman of Los Angeles; sons Roger W. (Susan Meese) Morris Jr. of Plantation, Fla., Keith (Colleen) Morris of Streetsboro, Ohio, Paul Morris and Timothy (Jen) Morris, both of Cincinnati; brother Clyde (Janet) Morris of Girard, OH; sister-in-law Rose Morris of Campbell, OH; and 13 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Jean Markovitch and brother Arthur Morris.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, Dec. 13, at 6 p.m. at the Blackstone Funeral Home in Girard.
The family will receive relatives and friends on Friday from 4 p.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that any charitable contribution to Christina’s Garden (To assist those battling cancer) at P.O. Box 1105, Youngstown, OH 44501.
