YOUNGSTOWN – Services will be Saturday, Nov. 10, 2012, at 10 a.m. at the L.E. Black, Phillips & Holden Funeral Home for Mrs. Mary Beulah Jasper, 78, who entered eternal rest on Friday, Nov. 2, 2012, at St. Elizabeth Health Center.

Mrs. Jasper was born Aug. 18, 1934, in Youngstown, a daughter of Malachi and Beulah Evans Jones.

She was a graduate of The Rayen School and attended Youngstown State University. She had worked as a teacher’s assistant in the Detroit School System and Montessori Schools in Youngstown, Ohio.
She also worked at the Sojourner House.

She was a lifelong member and Mother Queen of the Grand Supreme Holy Trinity Association.
She was spiritually known as Mother Queen of Knowledge and Wisdom at the church.
She was a former member of the NAACP, McGuffey Center Senior and South Side Senior groups, where she enjoyed arts and crafts, which was her passion.

Mary loved cooking for special occasions.

She leaves to cherish her beloved memory, five children, Sherry (Robert) Walker, Cameron (Tracy) Hughes, Katrina (Gary) Walker, Andre’ (Ashes) Hughes and Tyrone (Deborah) Hughes, all of Youngstown; two sisters, Clara (Robert) Mills of Girard, Ohio and Gloria Thompkins of Warren, Ohio; a brother, Samuel Louis Jones of Oberlin, OH; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and a host of family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Elizabeth Jones; a brother, Justus James Jones; and a granddaughter, Yael Hughes.

Friends may call Saturday, Nov. 10, 2012, from 9 to 10 a.m. at the funeral home
