CAMPBELL, Ohio – Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in Sts. Peter and Paul Croatian Church with Father Edward Noga officiating, for Michael J. “Champ” Rendulich Jr., 86, who passed away Thursday morning at Hospice House after a long illness

Michael was born April 22, 1923 in Campbell, Ohio, the son of Michael and Helen Terak Rendulich.

He was a 1941 graduate of Campbell Memorial High School and went on to serve his country in the U.S. Army as a machinist and warehouseman. He was stationed in the Philippines, where he earned a Philippine Liberation Ribbon. After being discharged in 1946, he worked as a drill press operator at LTV Steel, retiring in 1983.

Mike was an avid polka dancer and walked at the Southern Park Mall for many years to stay in shape. He was an active member of the Polka Boosters, the Croatian Pensioners Lodge 66, the American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Mike particularly enjoyed keeping up with the news and sports and read every page of any newspaper within reach.

He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, the former Rose DeVivo, whom he married on May 12, 1979; a sister, Rose Skukan; and a niece, Rosemarie Perry.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Katherine Rendulich.

The Rendulich family has entrusted their loved one to the care of the Wasko Funeral Home and will receive friends Sunday afternoon from 2 to 4 p.m.
