YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Katheryna Kawecki, 86, of the city’s west side, passed away peacefully Sunday evening, Dec. 7, 2014, at her home.

Katheryna was born Jan. 24, 1928, in Horodena, Sambir, Ukraine, a daughter of the late Michael and Pauline Pawlowycz, and came to America and Youngstown, Ohio in 1958.
She was a homemaker and a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Youngstown.
Her husband, Michael Kawecki, whom she married in 1953, died Jan. 18, 2004.
Katheryna leaves several nieces, nephews, and friends.
Family and friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 10, at Kinnick Funeral Home, 477 N. Meridian Road, Youngstown, OH.
Funeral services will begin at 9:15 a.m. on Thursday at the funeral home, and continue at 10 a.m. at Sts. Peter and Paul Ukrainian Orthodox Church, 1025 N. Belle Vista Ave., Youngstown. Interment will follow at the parish cemetery.
