ST Vincent DePaul Orphanage??? & ED Help

My aunt recalls my grandfather saying that he lived much of his young life at a ST Vincent's Orphanage in Toledo. The years would be approx 1912-1925. I contacted the Catholic Dioces and they took my info and never got back to me. Strangely I know my grandfathers family were German Lutheran. I wonder why he would go to a catholic orphange. But my Aunt seems pretty sure that it was called St Vincent De Paul's. Has anyone heard of or have any info or direction as to where I can acquire any info at all on this orphange in question. Or might you have a suggestion on another route I can travel.
Also, my grandfathers family was from the 43605 zip code. Mostly on streets Hurd, Nevada, Thurston, and Delence between Starr, Navarre, E Broadway, and Gessner. I'm consistantly having trouble locating this area in all censuses previous to 1920. The districts' numbers often change between census years. Does anyone have any advice, guide, or info that may help me find the pages that deal with this area so I can get over a wall that i keep hitting. Thanks for taking the time to read this request.
