Donald E. Royer, 82, Thornville, died Sat. Sept. 23, 2000 at home.

He was born Sept. 30, 1917, Middleburg, OH., to Wilbur E. and Mary (Wooley) Royer. He was a 1935 graduate of West Mansfield High School; attended Capital University and OSU. He was the owner of Royer's Market, Newark, for seven years and Don's Restaurant, Thornville, for 15 years.

Survivedd by his wife of 59 years, Selma (Jeffers) Royer; son, James E. Royer, U.S. Navy; daughters, Mary (Jerry) Franks and Susan (Daniel) Hibbler, Jacksontown and Sylvia (Robert) baker, Thornville; 10 grandchilcren; six gr-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Richard and Gerald Royer.

Services were Wednesday, Sept. 27, 2000, Thornville United Methodist Church, Pastor Debra Ketcham officiating. Burial Lutheran Reformed Cemetery.
