PATTERSON, Charlotte Bushfield June 27, 1920-March 23, 2012 Charlotte Bushfield Patterson was born in Newark, Ohio, the third daughter of Charles and Alda (Faucett) Bushfield.

She was a graduate of Newark High School and Ohio Wesleyan University where she met her husband of 60 years, Chase Willard Patterson.

Mrs. Patterson taught first in Newark, Ohio while her husband was serving in the Coast Guard in WWII and then in Springfield, Ohio where she was a first grade teacher at Snowhill School for over thirty years.
Mr. Patterson died in 2004.

She and her husband enjoyed the company of dear Springfield and Wittenberg friends with whom they shared many good times and travels in retirement.
They were long-time members of First Lutheran Church.
She lived in her own apartment at Oakwood Village until the last week of her life.
Mrs. Patterson is survived by her family: Molly Patterson Chiles and her husband, John of Raleigh, North Carolina and David Chase Patterson and Carolyn Kuss Patterson of Columbus, OHIO.
Her grandchildren are Kristin (Patterson) and James Wildman of Lake Forest, IL, Colin and Heather Chiles of Alexandria, VA, Rachel Chiles and Jeremy Teeple of Toledo, Wes and Karen Patterson of Columbus and Christopher and Bennett Chiles of Santa Monica, CA.
She also has two great granddaughters, Alexandra and Avery Wildman.
Mrs. Patterson's sister, Sue Marr lives in Chillicothe, Ohio and her sister, Martha VanValen predeceased her.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Monday at the LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME.
A service in celebration of her life will immediately follow at 7:00 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be sent to the Charlotte B. Patterson Snowhill School Library Fund at the Springfield Foundation, 4 W. Main St. or the First Lutheran Church, 30 S. Wittenberg Ave., Springfield, OH 45502.
