Blythe
MORTER was born ca. 1818 in
England, arrived US ca. 1851, and moved to
Licking County 1852 or later, where I believe he may have married a second time. Two
MORTER children appear in the 1870 census of
Washington Township: Mary, age 8, and
Eli, age 6, living with John
Albaugh family. Mary
MORTER married Scott
ELBEN 5 October 1879 in
Licking County. A Scott
ELBEN who appears in 1900 census of
Freeborn County,
Minnesota, may be the same person. MORTER also spelled MORTAR or MORTOR, and sometimes the handwiring is mistaken for
MORTON. I'd appreciate hearing from anyone who has any information on this family. Thanks!
