Can anyone tell me if there is an index of who's interred at Souslin Cemetery. I am told that Charlotte (DOVE) BAKER is there. I believe she is the mother of my ancestor, Josiah BAKER. I'm looking for information on Josiah's wife Rachel (ENGLISH) BAKER, who died in 1863. I'm hoping that she may also be at Souslin. I see on the internet, that Souslin is on BAKER Rd., which makes me think this may be a famliy cemetery . If anyone has information on this I would appreciate a response by e-mail.

Greg,
I have a copy of the Souslin Cemetery records which include Charlotte Dove Baker, among others. I believe Jacob Baker may be a brother of my Leah Baker b 1800 m James W Colville. Would be happy to copy the cemetery pages (3) and send them to your PO address. Ken Burroughs

Good Morning Ken..

I have been told, for years, that the records of the old Souslin Cemetery were distroyed by fire in 1900. If these records do exist, how can I get a copy of them.

I'm a direct descendant of the Souslin family. My
ggrandmother was Sarah Smith, married Samuel Souslin. I have been told that Samuel is buried in the Old Souslin Cemetery, but Sarah is buried in the cemetery at Smith Chapel.

Sarah and Samuel had a daughter, Dessie Belle Souslin, who married Fred McFarland, and lived in Newark. They had 7 children, and were divorced about 1915.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

The Johnstown (Ohio) Genealogy Society published many Licking Co cemetery records, including the Souslin Cem records. Licking Co Gen'l Soc sells copies of the above and you can check it out on their web page. However, I can send you the relevant pages by regular mail if you give me your PO address. Please reply directly to kenibee@aol.com

Ken, Could it be at all possible if you could also send me the transcripts of the Souslin Cemetery. I have alot of relatives buried there, Ethel and Frank Baker were my Aunt and Uncle, I have Danielsons, Donaldsons, and alot of others. I have never been able to find the actual grave listings and the stones are in bad shape now. Charlotte Dove Baker was my cousins gr-grandmother on her mother's side, Ethel. I am not sure, but, I think some of the Billman's are buried there too. Thanks, Sally Mosholder

Thanks Norah,
I was simply trying to respond that I didn't have my copy of the Johnstown County Genealogical society report on the Souslin Cemetery and could therefore not copy the pages for another genealogist. I think she mentioned Charlotte Dove in the original request and I know she is in that cemetery..Ken Burroughs

I see in your message that you have a James W Colville. My great grandfather had the same name. He was born in Scotland in 1836. Would you have an information on him.
