Hi Mary Sue,
4 years is nothing in genealogy-time!!!
I'm looking forward to connecting our family lines--even tho they are side branches. I'm tired of my direct line brick wall!!

My Harper info is just loose in a file folder-- so I'll have to sort thru it.

I have that Hugh McKee & Mary Ann Harper were both natives of Ireland and in 1853 they crossed the Atlantic to the US & celebrated their marriage in Ironton in 1854. A year later they came to Story Co Iowa...I wonder if the Catholic Church in Ironton would have that marriage record?? Or were they Catholic? The Briggs Library lists an abstract of Hugh's marriage--IR(Ironton Register?) 27 Oct 1853. Are you able to check the original (microfilm)?
Hugh's obit says he was born in Kilkeel, CountyDown, Ireland

I have that Mary Ann Harper was born May 1833 In Laugh Erk., Ireland--there is no such place & I don't know where I got this info--I'll keep looking.

This file search has made me realize I'd better get my files organized!
Look forward to hearing from you
Molly
